I'm currently in Liberia until the end of September. In Spring 2009, Umbrage Editions will publish 'Long Story Bit By Bit', a collection of images and interviews from my work in Liberia from 2003 - 2007.
I've recently completed coverage of a platoon of soldiers from Battle Company of the US 173rd Airborne in Kunar's Korengal Valley in Afghanistan. The second installment of a report made with my colleague Sebastian Junger will appear in the September-October issue of Vanity Fair. Images of the project first appeared as a feature in the January issue of Vanity Fair and US' ABC network Nightline. You can also hear an NPR interview about the insurgency. Sebastian and I are working with film producer John Battsek on a feature length documentary film to be released in 2010.
I have been awarded this years World Press Photo Award. The picture was drawn from a set entitled "Battle Company, Afghanistan" that received a 2nd Prize in the General News story category.
An exhibition commission for the British Council about Arabia entitled 'My Fathers House' is scheduled to open in October 2008 and will tour the region.
